Development ManageR
Objective of the Position: The Development Manager plans, implements, and coordinates fundraising efforts and community activities that will encourage, maintain, and increase philanthropic support to meet the short and long-term needs of Compass Women’s Center and public relations and marketing efforts that will engage women to seek our services. These activities shall be consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.
Because the person in this role is often the first voice or face that a donor will encounter, it is imperative that they be someone who values and respects all people and the Christian faith. The incumbent must embody the organization’s core values: Love, Respect, Service, and Humility, as well as be able to explain the Center's Christian beliefs to callers and potential clients, volunteers, donors, etc. Compass is a pro-life organization and, respectfully, does not provide or refer for abortion services.
Reports to: the Executive Director of Compass Women’s Center
Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time, 32 hours per week
Pay: $40,000
Core Responsibilities and Duties:

Development
-
In conjunction with the Executive Director, design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs in the following areas of fund development: annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, special events, grants, and other ongoing activities

Coordinate agency activities in support of the annual fundraising events
-
Conduct thorough prospect research and identification activities for the center; devise and implement specific strategies to develop relationships with individual donors and community churches; cultivate these relationships to expand the center’s donor base
-
Report in a timely manner the monthly and annual progress, effectiveness, and efficiency of development programs conducted by the center; identify problems in meeting objectives and recommend solutions

Accept assignments not specifically delineated above as requested by the Executive Director and the board of directors

Marketing
-
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key contacts within the community; this includes businesses, civic groups, churches, and philanthropic prospects; identify potential fundraising opportunities within these groups and recommend a course of action for entering their markets

Initiate and share public speaking opportunities with the Executive Director in order to educate and/or update groups willing to support the center
-
Work closely with the Executive Director to develop the ministry’s public relations and marketing efforts, including, but not limited to, university and colleges, social media, websites, promotional brochures, billboards, radio and television, and community appearances by the board, staff, and volunteers. These will be directed appropriately to our target audiences

Research and develop community, church, and university relationships to support new programs and services provided by Compass Women’s Center

Train and maintain a working knowledge of the computer software programs specifically designated to facilitate donor information

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum: Bachelor's degree plus 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role required
-
Able to compassionately and respectfully interact with clients and donors of diverse cultures, religions, backgrounds, and traditions
-
Preferred experience in customer service, addiction recovery care, or other types of lay support for people experiencing difficult situations
-
Understand basic interpersonal dynamics and be able to adjust coaching style to different personalities

Client Care Associate
Objective of the Position: The Client Care Associate will serve with hope, information, and encouragement to offer support and education to the clients and community of Compass Women’s Center. The incumbent will work directly with clients facing both planned and unplanned pregnancies. The Client Care Associate will humbly promote, encourage, and provide educational services for clients focused on pregnancy and parenting so they may flourish as individuals and parents. This includes meeting one-on-one with multiple clients.

The incumbent will also assist the volunteers of Compass who work directly with the Client Care programs under the supervision of our Client Care Director. They will interact with volunteers at Compass and serve them with care and encouragement.

Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time, 21 hours per week
9:30 am-4:30 pm, 3 days a week, with occasional nights or weekends

Client Care and Programs: Provide education & support for each client in an atmosphere of warmth and compassion through listening and other helping skills.

Provide accurate information on abortion, parenting, and adoption within the scope of Compass Women’s Center

Facilitate helpful and respectful conversations with clients

Offer support, material resources, and referrals appropriate to a client's situation

Appropriately follow up with clients

Maintain client records accurately and confidentially

General Duties: Assist with office operations such as basic operational tasks and answering phones as needed

Comply with Compass Women’s Center’s requirements for training in this role

Stay up to date on relevant statistics and information relating to pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and foster care

Minimum: High school diploma plus 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role required

Bachelor's degree or higher preferred, especially in social work, nursing, education, psychology, or similar

Experience providing peer-counseling/support to clients in a pregnancy center or similar setting preferred

Fatherhood Program Coordinator
Objective of the Position: The Fatherhood Program Coordinator will contribute to the growth of Compass Women’s Center by overseeing our men’s program and male volunteers who participate in supporting it. The incumbent will be engaged in a variety of duties, including supervision and appointments with male clients, leading the Fatherhood monthly meeting, and training and leading male volunteers. Devotion, diligence, organization, adaptability, and a strong understanding of human relations would be great skills for success as the Fatherhood Program Coordinator at Compass.

Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time, 15 hours per week, 3-5 hours a day, various days of the week: Monday through Thursday, one evening a month for the Fatherhood meeting

Client Care and Programs: Provide education & support for each male client in an atmosphere of warmth and compassion through listening and other helping skills.
